2 William Shakespeare is one of the greatest and most famous writers in the world. He was born in 1564 in Stratford-on- Avon. It was a small English town. His father wan- ted his son to be an educated person and William was sent to the local grammar school, he had no free time. When he had a break William liked to go to the forest and to the river Avon.
3 At that time actors and actresses visited Stratford-on- Avon. William liked to watch them. He was fond of their profession and he decided to become an actor.
4 He went to London. There he became an actor. He began to write plays too. Shakespeare was both an actor and a playwright. In his works Shakespeare described the most important and dramatic events in life. His plays were staged in many theatres, translated into many languages and they made Shakespeare a very popular man.
5 The writers most famous plays are Othello, King Lear, Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet.
6 He produced thirty seven plays. He was connected with the best theatres in England for twenty five years.
7 William Shakespeare wrote a lot of poetry. His sonnets have been published in many languages. They are well known. We dont know a lot facts about Shakespeares life. We can only guess what kind of man he was, thats why there are many legends about his life.
8 William Shakespeare dies His plays are still popular and millions of people admire them.

Презентация рассказывает о жизни и творчестве Шекспира. Урок по этой теме я проводила в 8 классе. К этому уроку учащиеся сделали замечательную стенгазету с фотографиями и информационным текстом о Шекспире.

the early years William was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford — upon — Avon. His mother was the daughter of a farmer. His father was a glove — maker. William attended the local grammar school and got a classical education. In 1582 he married Anne Hathaway. WORK In 1587 Shakespeare went to work in London, leaving his family at home. Soon he became an actor playing supporting roles. In 1599 William became a part owner of the Globe Theatre in London. Most of his plays were performed in the new Globe Theatre built on the bank o f the River Thames.
death In 1613 he stopped writing and came back to Stratford where he died in 1616. This is the place where the house on which Shakespeare died used to be. It was a big house bought by William Shakespeare for his family when he was still in London. Here he spent the last years of his life. Unfortunately, the house was destroyed. It’s interesting that William died on his birthday, 23 April.
MEMORIALS Another memorial to William Shakespeare is the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The present building was constructed in 1932. The first building was opened on Shakespeare’s birthday in 1987 and destroyed by fire in 1926.
memorials The bronze statue of Shakespeare, presented to Stratford by Lord Ronald Sutterland Gower in 1988. Shakespeare’s figure is high above the ground and on the ground there are small figures of Shakespeare’s famous characters.

END Many centuries have passed since his death, but Shakespeare is still considered to be the greatest of all playwrights and poets. His plays are still acted in the whole world.
